"Noble" is a naturally sweet wine - the carefully harvested grapes were allowed to dry for a period of 2.5 months, after which the almost entirely raisined Mavrud grape was vinified.
Tasting notes: Superb dark colour. Fragrance of ripe black cherries, black currants and mint. Full body with velvety tannins and a unique subtle blend of dryness and sweetness on the palate. Perfectly noble finish with a great long aftertaste. A wine with character and potential.
It reminds me of the gift that Ulysses received from the Thracian king Maron:
"Sweet black wine... unblended, and of the most exquisite flavour... when he drank it he mixed twenty parts of water to one of wine, and yet the fragrance from the mixing-bowl was so exquisite that it was impossible to refrain from drinking. " (Homer, The Odyssey, Book IX, Translated by Samuel Butler)
